Assumptions:
You have already inserted the DVD media into the DVD-RW drive.
Method 1:
1. Download and install VLC media player for Mac OS X (Universal Binary or Platform Specific Package) from <http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-macosx.html>
2. Open Finder then navigate to /Applications
3. Open VLC.app then click on File > Open Disc…
4. Select DVD then click on OK
