Switching Between Mac OS X and Windows Vista: Incorrect Display of System Date and Time
November 28, 2007 | Leave a Comment
If you have recently starting using both Leopard (Mac OS X 10.5.x) and Windows Vista via bootcamp on your Intel-based Mac, then you may have noticed the incorrect display of the system date and time when switching between operating systems. After switching between OSes, if you don’t maintain an active internet connection, then you may have to manually configure the system date and time in order for it to display the correct values. It is quite an annoyance, but it is a known issue and has been documented by Apple. The following paragraph is even included in the Boot Camp manual.
If your computer doesn’t always show the correct date and time
“You must have an active Internet connection in order to maintain the correct date and time when going between Mac OS X and Windows.
If you are not connected to the Internet, you need to set the date and time manually when you change operating systems.”
