Capture Device Offline in Adobe Premiere Elements
October 11, 2007 | Leave a Comment
Details:
Adobe Premiere Elements 3.0 has been previously installed on a computer running Windows XP Professional, but it has not been updated since 09/11/2006. If you launch the program, then you may receive the following message when attempting to capture video from an external device:
“Capture Device Offline.”
Problem:
A Digital Videocassette Recorder (Sony DVCAM DSR-11) has been attached to the computer via firewire cable, but the user is unable to capture video from within Adobe Premiere Elements 3.0.
Resolution:
Download and install an available update from Adobe’s web site for Adobe Premiere Elements 3.0 (v3.0.2).
Comments:
In order to obtain the software update you need to visit http://www.adobe.com and search for “Premiere Elements 3.0 update”. Attempting to use the built-in Adobe Updater application may not yield any results.
